Simply serving

Here’s an easy way to get your kids to partner with the work being done by your local food pantry. Pick up some craft foam sheets, some food shaped cookie cutters and some magnetic strips or buttons. Your kids can trace the food shapes and decorate, then write “Give thanks to the Lord for he is good…” (Psalm 107:1) on them. Add a magnetic strip on the back and they just created a refrigerator magnet that reminds people daily of the real reason for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. Check with the director at your local food pantry to see if your kids can make these to go in the bags of food distributed to families at Thanksgiving time. Be sure to ask how many they would need, what date you would need to provide them to the pantry and take time to pray for the families who will be receiving them.
